Other than increasing production you are also required to get more survivors for certain tasks. Completing tasks is the main priority in the game and you will periodically keep getting tasks like “xx Survivors are living in your Camp” or “See the sunrise with xx survivors” (xx is the number of survivors). So these tasks are one more reason why you need to get more survivors.
Since now you know how important it is to get new survivors so let’s check out what you need to do to get more survivors. There are two ways you can use to get more survivors in Frozen City. Below you can learn about both these ways.
1. Dorm is the place where your survivors live and take rest in your camp. So the first way to get more survivors is to simply build new dorms. You will see some “+” marked areas near your existing dorms. These are the spots where you can build new dorms. Note that you need certain amount of different resources to build a dorm. If the “+” marked area is highlighted then it means you have the required resources and you can tap on “Build” button to make a new dorm. You get 2 more survivors with each new dorm you build.
2. The second way is to upgrade your existing and newly built dorms. Each dorm can be upgraded to level 2 after which it can accommodate 4 survivors. After upgrading a dorm to level 2 simply upgrade the Bed in that dorm to level 20 after which 2 new survivors will arrive and your dorm will now hold 4 survivors in it.

In regular game mode each dorm can have maximum 4 survivors only but in events like Grandpa’s Farm and Fish Farming a dorm can have up to 8 survivors. This is because some features are little different in events and one such change is that dorms in special events can be upgraded up to level 4. Two new survivors are added with each level so after upgrading a dorm to level 4 it will have 8 survivors.
How To Build More Dorms In Frozen City
Some players complain that they don’t see the “+” marked areas near dorms and thus they are unable to build dorm. That’s why there are a lot of players who ask how to build dorm or how to build more dorms in Frozen City. Well, if you don’t see a new spot to build a dorm then it simply means you need to upgrade your Furnace.
Upgrading Furnace not only unlocks new buildings in the city but also allows to upgrade existing buildings further. In the image below you can see upgrading this furnace to level 6 will unlock 2 new dorms and also allow to upgrade Greenhouse, Coal Mine, Hospital etc.
