Frozen City Iron Mine Hero Guide
Before learning about how to get Arthur, first let’s get to know some important details about him. Soon after reaching the 3rd location on map “Plain City” you will find that all or most of the buildings need iron in order to increase their production and complete tasks. That’s why you will need to increase the production of iron from Iron Mine.
To increase the production of iron you need to assign more survivors to Iron Mine but the problem is that first you need to get Arthur and then upgrade him to level 10 in order to assign another survivor. Since you haven’t yet unlocked this iron mine hero so it’s not possible to upgrade him and unlock the next survivor slot.
In the first and second locations (Abandoned Camp & Valley Town), the game used to give you the required hero from the task completion chest itself. However for some reason on reaching Plain City, the game mostly rewards you with gems and wishing stars for completing the task. So seems like Plain City onwards you need to unlock the required heroes yourself.
Other than needed for Iron Mine, Arthur is also a great hero to use in Battle and Adventure modes. He is an Epic rarity hero with Tank role. He can call 11 survivors with shield and also knock back enemies dealing up to 397% damage (at max level) in Battles. Additionally he also gives teammates a shield that mitigates up to 397% (at max level) of his attack power. So he not only increases the production of iron but also greatly boosts the power of your team in Battles and Adventure.

1. Completing Tasks – After completing each task you are rewarded with a specific item like gems, wishing stars or chests. So what you need to do is simply keep completing tasks till you get a task which rewards you with a Rare Chest for completing it. Such chests contain 600 wishing stars, 10 blazing stars and 1 epic hero. Since Arthur is an Epic hero so you will need to complete tasks which give you a rare chest and hope to get Arthur from opening it.
2. Common Chest – These chests can be claimed for free every 8 hours from the Shop. They contain wishing stars, blazing stars, a random rare card and also a chance to get 1 epic card. You actually have a little low chance to get Arthur from this chest since epic card is a possible reward from this chest and not guaranteed. But still i recommend opening these chests as frequently as possible because you never know when you might get lucky.
3. Rare Chest – These chests can be purchased from the Shop for 350 gems each. They give you thousands of wishing star, 30 blazing star, 2 rare and 1 epic card. If you are free to play (F2P) player then i recommend you to open these chests in order to get Iron Mine hero. If you play the game actively and grind daily for completing tasks then you can get enough gems to open 1 Rare Chest everyday or every other day.
4. Golden Chest – If you are ready to grind and wait for even more profitable exchange of your gems then you can open these chests from Shop for 800 gems each. These chests give you 3x more blazing stars and 2.5x more rare cards than Rare Chest. However they give you only 2 epic cards so if you are mainly looking for Arthur then it’s better to open two rare chests instead of this golden chest, this way you will save 100 gems.
5. Events – You can also participate in limited time events to obtain all the above mentioned chests as a reward. Like in the image below you can see this “Grandpa’s Farm” event can give you 3 golden chests and 3 epic cards as milestone rewards together with other valuable items. Better your performance in the event, more precious chests you will get so make sure to participate in events to greatly increase your chances of getting Arthur and other epic heroes.
6. Plain City Deck 1 – This is the last possible but guaranteed way to get Arthur. If you don’t want to grind tasks or events then you can simply buy Arthur from the Shop. You can find “Plain City Deck 1” pack under “Special Pack” in Shop. This pack contains 2 epic heroes Arthur and Sophia together with 2 rare heroes Aiden and Dr. Lee. It also gives you 250K wishing stars together with all these heroes. So if you want to instantly get Arthur then you can buy this pack and start producing more iron right away.
