After the main hall you can enter the Sanctum Depths where you can kill enemies to obtain Aspirant’s Key and other regular items. You will get 4 keys from enemies at each reset and you will need to tap the hand icon to pick them up (they don’t get auto picked up like other items). There are various other ways to get these keys like Hilts Trader, Shadow Assembly, Battleground, Blessed chests etc. and since these keys are extremely important so you should try to get as many of them as possible using all these ways. Don’t forget to check out my dedicated post on Aspirant’s Key to know 7 ways to get them and how to use them efficiently.
At the end of Sanctum you will reach Aspirant’s Grounds where you can use these keys to open Sanctum chests. These chests contain Sanctum Stones (or Culling Stones) which are required to upgrade the vessels at Legacy of the Horadrim in the main hall of Sanctum.

There are three types of Sanctum Stones which are Sapphire, Garnet and Beryl. Each type of sanctum stone or Culling stone can be used to upgrade 3 specific vessels which has been mentioned below.
- Sapphire can be used to upgrade Iben Fahd’s Tenacity, Jered Cain’s Vision and Caldesann’s Compassion
- Garnet can be used to upgrade Nilfur’s Precision, Zoltun Kulle’s Ingenuity and Tal Rasha’s Authority
- Beryl can be used to upgrade Guilt of the Nameless, Nor Tiraj’s Knowledge and Cathan’s Piety
Aspirant’s Grounds actually has 4 rooms, each containing 5 Sanctum Chests (total 20 chests). In order to unlock the next room you need to open all 5 chests in the current room. You must also note that the required number of keys keep increasing with every chest you open (amount of sanctum stones from chests increases as well).
Opening all 20 chests will spawn a Bonus Chest in the 4th room which gives more stones however, to open all 20 chests you will need 377 keys which is not very efficient. In order to use your keys in the most efficient way it’s best to open only the 5 chests in the first room everyday. The first chest can be opened for free so you will need to spend keys on 4 chests only.
