Combat Rating is the most important stat in Diablo Immortal. One of the ultimate goals in this game is to increase combat rating because it decides how stronger or weaker you are in comparison to your enemies. Other than that, you also won’t be able to unlock and play certain content if you don’t have the required combat rating. It’s probably the most important stat in the game and thus you should know everything about it. So in this guide i will tell you what is combat rating, how to check it and most importantly how to increase combat rating in Diablo Immortal. So let’s check t out!
What Is Combat Rating In Diablo Immortal
It is basically a stat which determines how much damage you will deal to the enemy and also how much damage you will take from the enemy. If your Combat Rating is higher than the enemy (whether it be a monster or a player) then you will deal him extra damage and also take less damage. But if your combat rating is lower than the enemy then you will take increased damage and also deal less damage.
You might know that after reaching level 60 you unlock paragon system as well as the ability to change game difficulty using your mini map. There are various difficulty modes like Hell 1, Hell 2, Hell 3 etc. each having a minimum combat rating requirement.
If you switch to a higher difficulty while having your combat rating too low then you will get defeated in just few enemy hits. This happens because each difficulty mode has a recommended Combat Rating (CR) requirement. If you switch to a higher difficulty while having low CR then you won’t be able to survive for long. Like in the image below you can see i have 977 CR so i will deal 67% less damage and take 208% increased damage in Hell 2.
Not only these game difficulties, but also the Helliquary bosses at Demonic Portal have a minimum CR requirement. Below you can check the recommended Combat Rating for each difficulty mode and Demonic Portal/Helliquary Bosses in Diablo Immortal.
- Hell 1 = 520 CR
- Hell 2 = 1220 CR
- Hell 3 = 2120 CR
- Hell 4 = 3250 CR
- Hell 5 = 5025 CR
- Lassal (1 skull) = 420 CR
- Lassal (2 skull) = 1250 CR
- Lassal (3 skull) = 1640 CR
- Vitaath (1 skull) = 2000 CR
- Vitaath (2 skull) = 2450 CR
- Vitaath (3 skull) = 3465 CR
Although you can enter higher difficulty modes even if your combat rating too low but you can’t play Helliquary bosses like Lassal and Vitaath at 2 skull or 3 skull until you reach the recommended CR.
How To Check Combat Rating In Diablo Immortal
Now let’s learn about how to check combat rating because most players have no idea about where to find this important stat. There are two ways to check it, below you can learn about both these ways.
1. Using your Profile – Tap on your profile icon at top left on your screen to get three buttons. Tap on the first button to open your profile where you can check all your game information. Now tap on Attributes and then tap on “More Attributes” to check your combat rating.
2. Through your Inventory – Open your Inventory screen and tap on the small sized character icon just above the “Equipment and Cosmetics” tabs. Then tap on More Attributes to check your combat rating at the very top of the secondary attributes list.
These are the two ways to check combat rating in Diablo Immortal. You can use the one which is easier and faster for you.
How To Increase Combat Rating In Diablo Immortal
Before learning about how to increase combat rating, it’s important to know about combat rating calculation so that you know exactly what attributes you need to focus on. There are only 5 attributes in the game which increase your combat rating, these attributes are Strength, Intelligence, Fortitude, Vitality and Willpower. Since your combat rating calculation is dependent upon these five specific attributes, so in order to raise combat rating you need to increase these 5 attributes on your character.
Now let’s check out exactly how you can get more of these five attributes to increase combat rating and become more stronger. There are 5 ways to do so and below you can learn about them.
1. Equip Better Gear/Weapon – Equipping better legendary and set items is the best way to increase combat rating in Diablo Immortal. So make sure to keep leveling up because higher your level, higher will be the value of these 5 attributes on your obtained legendary and set items. If you want to know how to increase combat rating fast then this is the way to do it. You should also be aware of server paragon to know how faster or slower you can level up.
There are numerous ways to get legendary equipment in the game like Bestiary, shadow contracts, Rarities and Antiques vendor, killing enemies and Bosses at zones, Hilts Trader, battle pass etc. For getting set items you need to clear Dungeons in various Hell difficulties.
2. Gears With 3 Attributes – If you don’t yet know, you can also get equipment with 3 rows of the mentioned five attributes on them. Such items give you much more combat rating therefore your aim should be not only to get legendary or set items, but also with 3 rows of CR boosting attributes on them. Although there is not a definite way to get such gears but using the ways mentioned in method 1 above, you will eventually be able to get these.
3. Upgrading Gears – Near the bottom of gear details you can find “Upgrades” section which shows how much Strength, Intelligence, Fortitude, Vitality or Willpower you have got by upgrading that gear. So make sure to keep upgrading your gears at Blacksmith whenever an upgrade is available (indicated by a small red square at top right of the gear).
If you keep playing various sections of the game consistently then you will keep getting enough scrap materials, enchanted dust, glowing shard and enigmatic crystal to be periodically able to upgrade your gears.
You can get more enchanted dust by exchanging your scrap materials at Smithing Materials (located just next to Blacksmith). Get glowing shard using your extra legendary items and free daily rewards chest in Shop. Enigmatic crystal can be obtained through Challenge Rift and from Smithing Materials vendor (Yverius).
4. Legendary Gems – You also get combat rating by equipping legendary gems in your primary gears. Each legendary gem provides some CR and every time you upgrade them you get more combat rating. As a free to play, may be you won’t be able to upgrade your legendary gems that frequently but you don’t need to worry much about it because they are not the best way to increase combat rating in the game. Most of your CR will come from your gears, so focus on obtaining and upgrading them to increase combat rating fast.
You can get legendary gems using FA Runes, using rare crests at Elder Rift, Hilts Trader, from Market etc. If you are free to play then i recommend saving your platinum to purchase 2 out of 5 star and 3 out of 5 star gems from Market. You can sell Charms and complete daily activity in Codex to get platinum.
5. Upgrade Helliquary – Other than your equipment you can also upgrade your Helliquary to increase combat rating. There are two things in Helliquary which provide you CR, the Helliquary itself and the Trophies inside it.
Trophies can be obtained only once by defeating each boss at Demonic Portal and they can’t be upgraded. Make sure to tap the plus button and then Seal the trophies inside Helliquary otherwise you won’t get CR and other boosts from them. Right now there are three trophies available in the game Pyl’s Flowing Chaos, Flame-Twisted Claw (from Lassal) and Frozen Wing of The Shivering Death (from Vitaath).
But you can upgrade the Helliquary itself to get more combat rating on a regular basis. To upgrade it you will need Hellfire Scoria which can be obtained by defeating bosses like Lassal and Vitaath every Monday and Thursday at Demonic Portal. You can defeat these bosses only once at each reset but you can also defeat them once more to get more scoria if you play with your Warband.
