Frozen City Foundry Hero Guide
Before learning about how to get Sophia, first let’s get to know some important details about her. After completing about 35 tasks on the 3rd location “Plain City” you will need to produce a new resource “Cylinder” (by unlocking Foundry 2) using iron blocks. You will then be required to increase the production of iron blocks because now you don’t only need it for upgrading various structures in buildings but also for crafting cylinders.
To increase the production of iron block you need to assign more survivors to Foundry but the problem is that first you need to get Sophia and then upgrade her to level 10 in order to assign another survivor. Since you haven’t yet unlocked this foundry hero so it’s not possible to upgrade her and unlock the next survivor slot.
In Abandoned Camp & Valley Town, a good things was that the game used to give you the hero required for a particular building from the task completion chest itself. However on reaching Plain City the game mostly rewards you with only gems and wishing stars for completing the task. You will still get chest rewards for completing certain tasks but they won’t be as frequent as in earlier locations.
Other than needed for Foundry, Sophia is also a great hero to use in Battle and Adventure modes. She is an Epic rarity hero with Tank role. She can call 11 survivors (at max level) with sledgehammers who can damage enemies in melee range. She also has an ability called “Icethrower” which allows her to use a freeze spray to freeze the target and dealing up to 255% damage (at max level). So she not only increases the production of iron block but also greatly boosts the power of your team in Battles and Adventure.

1. Common Chest – You can find these chests in the shop where they can be claimed for free every 8 hours. If you watch an Ad then you can get 2 common chests instead of 1 every 8 hours. These chests give you wishing stars, blazing stars, a random rare card and also a chance to get 1 epic card. You actually have a low chance to get Sophia from this chest since epic card is not a guaranteed reward from this chest. But still i recommend opening these chests as frequently as possible because you never know when you might get lucky.
2. Rare Chest – These are purple colored chests and they can be purchased from the Shop for 350 gems each. They give you much more wishing star, 30 blazing star, 2 rare and 1 epic card. If you are free to play (F2P) player then i recommend you to open these chests in order to get Foundry hero. If you play the game actively and grind daily for completing tasks then you can get enough gems to open 1 Rare Chest everyday or every other day.
3. Golden Chest – These chests cost 800 gems each and they give you 3x more blazing stars and 2.5x more rare cards than Rare Chest. However they give you only 2 epic cards so if you are mainly looking for Sophia then it’s better to open two rare chests instead of this golden chest, so that you could save 100 gems. But if you are looking for more wishing star and blazing star then you should go for this golden chest.
4. Completing Tasks – This might seem strange but you also have a chance (really low though) to get epic heroes (including Sophia) just by completing tasks. What you need to do is simply keep completing tasks till you get a task which rewards you with a Rare Chest for completing it. Such chests contain 600 wishing stars, 10 blazing stars and 1 epic hero. Since Sophia is an Epic hero so you will need to complete tasks which give you a rare chest and hope to get Sophia from opening it.
5. Plain City Deck 1 – If you don’t want to grind tasks and looking for a quick and easy way to get Sophia then you can simply buy her from the Shop. You can find a “Plain City Deck 1” pack under “Special Pack” in Shop. This pack contains 2 epic heroes Arthur and Sophia together with 2 rare heroes Aiden and Dr. Lee. It also gives you 250K wishing stars together with all these heroes. So if you want to instantly get Sophia then you can buy this pack and start producing more iron blocks right away.
6. Events – You can also participate in limited time events to obtain Common, Rare and Golden Chests as rewards. Like in the image below you can see this “Grandpa’s Farm” event can give you 3 golden chests and 3 epic cards as milestone rewards together with other valuable items. More you grind the events, more precious chests you will get so make sure to participate in events to greatly increase your chances of getting Sophia and other epic heroes.
