How To Get Heroes In Frozen City
There are different ways you can use to collect heroes in the game. But before checking out those ways in this heroes guide first let’s have a look at all heroes available in the game. Below you can find the list of all heroes in Frozen City game together with their rarity. First let’s check out all epic heroes available in the game.

So you can see there are total 24 heroes available in Frozen City right now. You might have noticed that when you open “Heroes” screen in the game some of the heroes will be displayed under “To Be Collected“. A lot of players have no idea about why some of the heroes are being displayed under that. So let me tell you that heroes under “to be collected” simply means that you have unlocked the building connected to that hero but haven’t unlocked that hero yet. Therefore they will keep displaying as heroes to be collected until you unlock those heroes.
Now it’s time to learn about ways to get heroes in Frozen City. Make sure to go through all the below mentioned methods and choose the ones which you prefer, depending upon your play time and schedule. It’s of course recommended to use as many methods as possible so that you could get your desired heroes faster.
1. Shop Chests – This is the most basic and straightforward way to get heroes. You can find 3 types of chests in the shop which are Common, Rare and Golden Chest. Common Chest can be opened for free every 8 hours and it has a chance to give you an epic hero. You can actually open 2 common chests every 8 hours, the second one can be opened by watching an Ad. So even if you just log into the game every 8 hours to open this chest, you will be able to collect some heroes.
The two other chests (Rare and Golden) give you 3 and 7 hero cards respectively. Each Rare chest costs 350 gems while Golden chest costs 800 gems. If you are mainly looking for epic heroes then it’s best to open rare chests. Since you can get 2 epic cards for 700 gems by opening 2 rare chests while if you open a golden chest then you will spend 800 gems for 2 epics.
2. Task Chests – There will be certain tasks which will provide you a Common, Rare or Wooden chest as a completion reward. These tasks are like an extra way to obtain chests and thus get new heroes. So instead of just waiting it’s better to focus on completing tasks so that you could earn more gems for opening chests from the shop and also get tasks which reward you with chests.
3. Final Rare Chest – This can be considered just another extra way to get a Rare Chest. By completing tasks at a city you don’t only get specific task rewards but also gradually progress towards unlocking a rare chest. Once you have completed all the tasks in the city you will be able to claim this rare chest and get a chance to unlock a new rare or epic hero.
4. Special Packs – There are also various special packs available in the shop which give you a specific hero for a certain price. If you don’t want to grind tasks and looking for a quick and easy way to get a desired hero then you can simply buy that hero’s pack from the Shop. These packs also include other items like gems, blazing stars, time skippers etc. Like in the image below you can see this “Plain City Deck 1” pack contains 2 epic heroes Arthur and Sophia together with 2 rare heroes Aiden and Dr. Lee. It also gives you 250K wishing stars together with all these heroes.
5. Events – There are two special events available in the game right now, Grandpa’s Farm and Fish Farming. You can participate in these events to win a lot of golden and rare chests. Luckily these events are Free to Play friendly so you can participate in these events to get up to 3 golden chests, 4 rare chests and 3 random epic cards as milestone rewards without spending any money.
These events are the best and fastest way to get heroes in Frozen City. You can participate in these events only once a week as they are available only on Fridays. Also, you need to wait 3 days in order to claim your rewards as the event rewards can only be claimed after the end of the event.

How To Upgrade Heroes In Frozen City
Till now you learnt about how to unlock heroes, now it’s time to learn about how to upgrade heroes in Frozen City. Upgrading heroes is necessary not only for increasing the production but also for defeating enemies in Battle and Adventure modes. If your heroes are leveled up enough then you will be able to beat enemies in both these modes easily to claim more rewards. Below you can find the steps you need to follow in order to upgrade heroes in Frozen City.
Step 1. The first and most important step is to obviously unlock the hero whom you want to upgrade. So use the above mentioned 5 methods to get the hero you want.
Step 2. Open that hero’s screen and simply tap on “Upgrade” button to increase your hero’s level and make him/her more stronger. Your hero’s Attack, Defense, HP and both skills will improve with each level you add. You will need wishing stars to upgrade your heroes which can be obtained from all chests, battle mode, adventure mode, as online/offline reward from map screen and by completing certain tasks.
Step 3. After upgrading heroes every 10 levels you will hit a level cap. On reaching this cap you will be required to add a star to your hero by spending a certain amount of blazing stars and that hero’s cards. Only then you will be able to upgrade your hero further. Blazing Stars are a rare item and might be hard to obtain but don’t worry because i have already posted a guide on fastest way to get blazing stars, make sure you go through that post.
Step 4. This step is optional and only needs to be used if you don’t have enough blazing stars or hero cards to increase level cap. Even if you don’t have enough of these items you can still tap on upgrade button at “Add Star” screen to buy the missing resources with gems. More the missing resources or higher the rarity of hero card, more gems you will need to spend.
