Squidward Tentacles is a special survivor or character in Survivor.io game. The most unique thing about him is that you can’t assign him a weapon of your choice, instead he has his own permanent and exclusive weapon “Clarinet“. This unique weapon not only deals damage to enemies but also plays funny music. This means whenever you choose to play as Squidward you won’t be able to use any other weapon. If you haven’t yet unlocked this special survivor and wondering how to unlock Squidward then no need to worry anymore. How To Unlock Squidward In Survivor.io
Before learning about how to unlock Squidward, first let’s get to know some important details about him. This way you will know if it’s even worth it to get him or not. Of course if you just want to get him for your collection due to him being a unique and special character in the game then obviously these details won’t matter that much for you.
But still i am going to mention these details for all those players who are interested to know these information which they can’t access without owning Squidward. So first let’s begin with his bio in the game which says “Lives an uneventful life in Bikini Bottom. Has a sharp tongue, and loves music. A deepsea survivor who can only use his own unique weapon.”
In the last part of his bio it says “Only weapon stat bonuses are granted, not weapon effects when swapping weapons”. This means if you equip a level 80 Epic Kunai which has 1080 ATK and four of it’s Grade Skills unlocked then only 1080 ATK will be active and grade skill effects won’t work while playing with Squidward.
This means you should choose a weapon which has highest ATK stat among all your weapons while playing with Squidward Tentacles. Since his Clarinet will acquire only the ATK stat of your chosen weapon and not the attack style and Grade Skills. Therefore you should prefer the highest ATK stat rather than the type of weapon. The next thing you need to know about him are his skills. Below you can check his 1 star, 3 star and 6 star skills.
- Clarinet – This is 1 Star skill of Squidward in which he plays his Clarinet to attack nearby enemies.
- D Minor – This is his 3 Star skill which decreases Clarinet’s sonic attack interval by -40%
- Brilliant Variation – This is his 6 Star skill using which the enemies defeated by his Fatal Melody deal 2x explosion damage.
Squidward is actually a great survivor to use against mobs because the Clarinet field around him not only protects him but also dissolves enemies who try to pass through it. Although he is great when dealing with huge crowd of enemies but unfortunately he might not be the best choice for bosses. This is because you need to be close to the boss in order to deal damage with your Clarinet or Fatal Melody, which can be quite risky. If you are wondering about Clarinet Evo or what does it evolve into then let me tell you that it evolves into Fatal Melody. In order to evolve Clarinet into Fatal Melody you need HE Fuel supply skill which increases the range of all ammo and weapons. After evolution, the Clarinet field gets more larger and defined which deals even more damage and provides greater protection from stronger enemies.

So these were all details about Squidward’s weapon in the game. Now it’s time to learn about all stat bonuses or effects you can unlock by leveling up Squidward Tentacles to specific levels. The last bonus stat is specially the best one so try to level him up to level 100 as quickly as possible after unlocking him.
- Level 20 – Survivor HP +1000
- Level 40 – All Survivors Crit Damage +5%
- Level 60 – Survivor ATK +600
- Level 80 – All Survivors Heal 5% HP when on level up
- Level 100 – Survivor ATK +1000
And now let’s check out what stat bonuses do you get by upgrading Squidward to different stars. Just like with levels, the last upgrade at 6 Star is the most strongest one. So try to upgrade him to 6 Star as fast as possible.
- Clarinet (1 Star Upgrade) – Squidward plays his clarinet to attack nearby enemies. Can be evolved into Fatal Melody.
- Survivor License (2 Star Upgrade) – Survivor Attack +100, Survivor HP +500
- D Minor (3 Star Upgrade) – Clarinet’s Sonic Attack Interval -40%, Survivor HP +20%
- Advanced Survivor License (4 Star Upgrade)- Survivor Attack +500, Survivor HP +2500
- (5 Star Upgrade) – All Survivors HP +4%
- Brilliant Variation (6 Star Upgrade) – 2x Explosion Damage from enemies defeated by Fatal Melody, Survivor ATK +20%
An important thing to note is that just like other survivors you need Gold and Energy Essence to level up Squidward however upgrading him is a little different. Instead of survivor shard you will need a resource called “Underwater Sapphire” for upgrading Squidward. I will tell you how to get this Underwater Sapphire further below in this post.
After learning about all these important details, now it’s time to learn about how to get Squidward in Survivor.io game. In order to know that you need to remember that Squidward is a special survivor who was released in Spongebob event called “Deepsea Survivor”. In this event you could obtain Squidward Tentacles survivor by exchanging 15 Krabby Patty.
The great thing is that he could easily be unlocked as a Free to Play player just by participating in the event everyday. However the event is now over and most probably you won’t be able to get him anymore, even in the future. This is because special characters like these are almost never re-released after their special event, in most of the games. The next thing you might want to know is how to get Underwater Sapphire so that you could upgrade Squidward. Well, this special upgrade resource was also obtainable from Deepsea Survivor Event where you could get it by exchanging Krabby Coin. Since the event is now over so there doesn’t seems to be a permanent or regular way to get it. However i believe it will be possible to obtain it from upcoming events in the future. Since those who have already unlocked Squidward will need it for upgrading him.
