Potency is one of the most useful stat in Diablo Immortal. It can be greatly helpful in both PvE and PvP modes of the game but still many players ignore it. What Is Potency In Diablo Immortal?

Potency stat is one of the secondary attributes of your character. You can check your Potency by tapping on your profile at top left of the screen then tap on the first button (just before Avatar frames button) and go to “Attributes” > “More Attributes”. Alternatively you can also check it through your inventory by tapping on small character symbol button (above Equipment and Cosmetics tab) and selecting More Attributes.

Potency basically determines the duration of your debuffs dealt to monsters and enemy players, based on their Resistance attribute. So the duration of your debuffs like Stun, Chill, Poison, Burn etc. depends upon your potency value and enemy’s resistance value.

If your potency is higher than enemy’s resistance then the duration of your debuff will be increased by a certain percentage (which depends upon the difference between your potency and enemy’s resistance). On the other hand if your potency is lower than monsters’ or enemy player’s resistance  then your debuff duration will be decreased.

So you can see it’s a really important stat which can be really useful in both PvP and PvE. If you don’t increase this stat then you will be at a great disadvantage.

How To Increase Potency In Diablo Immortal

Below you can learn about 4 ways using which you can increase potency in Diablo Immortal.

1. Equipment – Willpower attribute on your equipment are one of the most basic sources of potency. Willpower increases both your potency and resistance so it’s one of the good attributes to look for when choosing an item to equip. However the potency and resistance gained from Willpower is very small so it’s not really a great way to gain potency.

2. Normal Gem – Citrine is the only normal gem which you can equip in your secondary gears to increase your potency. So you can also call it potency gem because it’s provides a good amount of potency. Make sure to keep upgrading your Citrine gem to increase the amount of potency gained.

3. Legacy of The Horadrim Vessels – Vessels in Legacy of the Horadrim at Iben Fahd Sanctum are a great way to increase various stats. Two of these vessels, namely Jered Cain’s Vision and Zoltun Kulle’s Ingenuity can help you greatly increase your potency. 4. Paragon – This is an endgame leveling system which allows you to make your character more stronger. It allows you to build your character in different ways by upgrading your desired paragon attributes and skills. Potency Or Resistance Or Damage In Diablo Immortal?

After learning all this, some players can’t decide which is better potency or resistance? Potency will strengthen your offense side while resistance will strengthen your defense side. Since i personally believe that offense makes you win battles so i would recommend you to focus more on potency if you want to choose between the two.

But of course it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t increase your resistance at all. If you have really low resistance then you will get easily defeated by an enemy even if you have a lot of HP/Life. Because an enemy with higher potency than yours can keep draining your HP for longer. So you need to maintain a little balance between the two while giving edge to your potency.

If you ask between potency or damage then i would say both are necessary but i will give the damage more priority over potency. Because damage is a straightforward attribute which directly affects every enemy you encounter while potency will come into effect in certain conditions.
