Patrick is another special survivor from Spongebob series released with Deepsea Survivor event with version 2.4.1 update in Survivor.io game. He is one of the most unique survivors as you can’t assign him a weapon of your choice (like with most other survivors), instead he has his own permanent weapon “Starfish Punch“. This means whenever you choose to play as Patrick you will also have to use his Starfish Punch as weapon. If you haven’t yet unlocked this special survivor and wondering how to unlock Patrick then no need to worry anymore. In this post i will tell you how to get Patrick as well as all other important details about him. So let’s check it out!
How To Unlock Patrick In Survivor.io
Before learning about how to unlock Patrick, first let’s get to know some important details about him. The bio of this new survivor says “SpongeBob’s best friend. A deepsea Survivor who can only use his own unique weapon (Only weapon stat bonuses are granted, not weapon effects when swapping weapons).”
In the last part of his bio it says “Only weapon stat bonuses are granted, not weapon effects when swapping weapons”. This means if you equip an Excellent +2 level 70 Kunai in weapon slot at Equipment screen which has 829 ATK and three of it’s Grade Skills unlocked then only 829 ATK will be active and grade skills effects won’t work while playing with Patrick.
This means you should choose a weapon which has highest ATK stat among all your weapons while playing with Patrick survivor. Since his Starfish Punch will acquire only the ATK stat of your chosen weapon and not the attack style and Grade Skills. Therefore you should prefer the highest ATK stat rather than the type of weapon.
Just like other survivors, Patrick also has 3 skills which can be unlocked by upgrading him using Underwater Tourmaline. I will tell you exactly how to get Underwater Tourmaline to upgrade Patrick soon in this post so just continue reading further. Below you can learn about all his three skills.
- Starfish Punch – This is the 1 star skill of Patrick in which he attacks enemies with his fists. Can be evolved into Starfish Karate.
- Swift Strike – This 3 star skill increases the range of his fist attack by +40%
- Talent Burst – This is his 6 star skill which reduces the attack interval of Starfish Karate by -20% and increases damage by +25%
Below you can learn about all the stat bonuses or effects you can unlock by leveling him up to specific levels. The last bonus stat is usually the best one (for most survivors) so try to level up your Patrick to level 120 as quickly as possible after unlocking him.
- Level 20 – Survivor HP +1000
- Level 40 – All Survivors Crit Damage +5%
- Level 60 – Survivor ATK +600
- Level 80 – All Survivors Heal 5% HP when on level up
- Level 100 – Survivor ATK +1000
- Level 120 – All Survivors Crit Rate +5%

And now let’s check out what stat bonuses do you get by upgrading Patrick to different stars. Just like with levels, the last upgrade at 6 Star is the most strongest one. So try to upgrade him to 6 Star as fast as possible (however it’s not that easy).
- 1 Star Upgrade – Default Upgrade, activates Starfish Punch as mentioned earlier
- 2 Star Upgrade – Survivor Attack +100, Survivor HP +500
- 3 Star Upgrade – Swift Strike, Fist Attack CD -40%, Survivor HP +20%
- 4 Star Upgrade – Advanced Survivor License, Survivor Attack +500, Survivor HP +2500
- 5 Star Upgrade – All Survivors ATK +4%
- 6 Star Upgrade – Talent Burst, Starfish Karate attack interval -20%, damage +25%, Survivor ATK +20%
An important thing to note is that just like other survivors you need Gold and Energy Essence to level up Patrick however as mentioned earlier in this post, upgrading him is different. Instead of survivor shard you will need a resource called “Underwater Tourmaline” for upgrading Patrick. I will tell you how to get this Underwater Tourmaline further below in this post.

If you are reading this post before 10th January 2024 then you can get Patrick from Deepsea Survivor Event. It is a limited time special event from which you can get Patrick survivor by purchasing the Mega Rewards at Sign-in tab of the event.
The next thing you need to know is how to get Underwater Tourmaline so that you could upgrade Patrick. Well, just like Patrick survivor, if you are reading this post before 10th January 2024 then you can get Underwater Tourmaline from Deepsea Survivor Event by exchanging Blue and Pink Jellyfish. You can get 1 Underwater Tourmaline by exchanging 30 Pink Jellyfish and 10 Tourmaline for 1 Blue Jellyfish at Exchange tab of the event.
You can get both Blue and Pink Jellyfish from Deepsea Survivor event in multiple ways. At first tab of the event you can get them just by logging in everyday. You can also get them by playing Jellyfish Field Defense at Missions tab. If you want to get more of them then you can also purchase various packs available during the event.
