Spongebob is one of the most unique and special survivor you can have in Survivor.io game. One of his unique features is that you can’t assign him a weapon of your choice (like with other survivors), instead he has his own permanent weapon “Spatula“. This means whenever you choose to play as SpongBob SquarePants you will also have to use Spatula as weapon. If you haven’t yet unlocked this special survivor and wondering how to unlock Spongebob then no need to worry anymore. In this post i will tell you how to get Spongebob as well as all other important details about him. So let’s check it out!
How To Unlock SpongeBob In Survivor.io
Before learning about how to unlock Spongebob, first let’s get to know some more important details about him. This way you will know if it’s even worth it to get him or not. Of course if you just want to get him for your collection due to him being a really unique and special character in the game then obviously these details won’t matter that much for you.
But still i am going to mention these details for all those players who are interested to know these information which they can’t access without owning Spongebob. So first let’s begin with Spongebob Squarepants’ bio in the game which says “A model citizen of Bikini Bottom. Positively optimistic, warm and kind. A deepsea survivor who can only use his own unique weapon.
In the last part of his bio it says “Only weapon stat bonuses are granted, not weapon effects when swapping weapons”. This means if you equip an Excellent +2 level 70 Kunai in weapon slot at Equipment screen which has 829 ATK and three of it’s Grade Skills unlocked then only 829 ATK will be active and grade skills effects won’t work while playing with SpongeBob.
This means you should choose a weapon which has highest ATK stat among all your weapons while playing with Spongebob survivor. Since his Spatula will acquire only the ATK stat of your chosen weapon and not the attack style and Grade Skills. Therefore you should prefer the highest ATK stat rather than the type of weapon. The next thing you need to know about are his skills. Below you can check his 1 star, 3 star and 6 star skills.
- Spatula – This is the 1 Star skill of Spongebob in which he uses his exclusive weapon Spatula to attack the nearest enemy.
- Master Chef Spatula Attack – This is his 3 Star skill which adds +40% range to his Spatula
- Hi-Speed Motor – This is his 6 Star skill while reduces the attack interval of Hydro Dynamic Spatula (evolved version of Spatula) by -20% and also increases damage by +20%
During a game, Spongebob attacks swiftly with his Spatula every few seconds. It is actually quite a big but simple weapon using which he attacks enemies closer to him but only in a random specific direction. Below you can check what effects do you get at each Spatula upgrade in a game.
- 1 Star Spatula – Default
- 2 Star Spatula – 2x Spatula Damage
- 3 Star Spatula – 2x Spatula Range
- 4 Star Spatula – 2x Spatula Damage
- 5 Star Spatula – Spatula Damage Up
If you are wondering about Spatula Evo or what does it evolve into then let me tell you that it evolves into Hydro Dynamic Spatula. In order to evolve Spatula into Hydro Dynamic Spatula you will need Energy Cube supply skill which reduces cooldown of all attacks. After evolution, your single large Spatula turns into 3 Spatulas which keep rotating like a fan to deal damage to enemies. Also, Spongebob now keeps holding these spatulas using a long rod instead of attacking with single spatula every few seconds.

So these were all details about Spongebob’s weapon in the game. Now it’s time to learn about all the stat bonuses or effects you can unlock by leveling up Spongebob Squarepants to specific levels. The last bonus stat is specially the best one so try to level up your Spongebob to level 100 as quickly as possible after unlocking him.
- Level 20 – Survivor HP +1,000
- Level 40 – Crit Damage +5%
- Level 60 – Survivor ATK +600
- Level 80 – Heal 5% HP when on level up
- Level 100 – Survivor ATK +1,000
And now let’s check out what stat bonuses do you get by upgrading Spongebob to different stars. Just like with levels, the last upgrade at 6 Star is the most strongest one. So try to upgrade him to 6 Star as fast as possible.
- Spatula (1 Star Upgrade) – Spongebob uses his Spatula to attack the nearest enemy. Can be Evolved into the Hydro Dynamic Saptula
- Survivor License (2 Star Upgrade) – Survivor Attack +100, Survivor HP +500
- Master Chef (3 Star Upgrade) – Spatula Attack Range +40%, Survivor HP +20%
- Advanced Survivor License (4 Star Upgrade) – Survivor Attack +500, Survivor HP +2500
- (5 Star Upgrade) – All Survivors ATK +4%
- Hi-Speed Motor (6 Star Upgrade) – Hydro-dynamic Spatula’s attack interval -20%, damage +20%, Survivor ATK +20%
An important thing to note is that just like other survivors you need Gold and Energy Essence to level up SpongeBob however upgrading him is different. Instead of survivor shard you will need a resource called “Underwater Ruby” for upgrading Spongebob. I will tell you how to get this Underwater Ruby further below in this post.
After learning about all these important details, now it’s time to learn about how to get SpongeBob in Survivor.io game. If you are reading this post before 5th August 2023 then you can get Spongebob from Deepsea Survivor Event. It is a limited time special event from which you can get SpongeBob survivor by purchasing the Mega Rewards at Sign-in tab of the event. The next thing you might want to know is how to get Underwater Ruby so that you could upgrade Spongebob. Just like Spongebob character, if you are reading this post before 5th August then you can get Underwater Ruby from Deepsea Survivor Event by exchanging Krabby Coin. You can get 10 and 1 Underwater Ruby by exchanging 300 and 30 Krabby Coins respectively at Exchange tab of the event.
Now the question is how to get Spongebob after the end of event. Well, i am not sure if there will be any other ways or events in the future from where you could get Spongebob. So if you want to get him, then right now is probably the best and only time. As for Underwater Ruby, i believe it will be possible to obtain it from upcoming events in the future. Since those who have already unlocked Spongebob will need it for upgrading him.
