A lot of players are having a hard time completing this Herod Mission. However he is not actually hard to beat. All you need to do is just use the correct strategy with right Units and you will be able to defeat him. If you are also struggling to beat Herod then no need to worry anymore. In this Herod guide i won’t only tell you the best strategy to beat Herod but also show you a video guide in which you can watch me beating Herod in Warcraft Rumble. So let’s check it out!
How To Beat Herod In Warcraft Rumble
The first thing you need to know is that Herod and the enemies are level 9 in this mission. Therefore it’s very important that your units are also at level 9 (recommended level is 10) to be able to complete this mission. It might be hard to beat him with low level units. Higher the levels of your units, the better.
In order to clear this mission the next thing you need to know is which path you need to take so that you could reach Herod with most of your units. The area has just two straight paths to choose from. Also, there are just a couple of Meeting Stones and no Guard Towers.
The best way is to choose the path from where the initial enemies start coming, which is the left side. You will find two Frostwolf Shaman and two Footmen already positioned there and they start coming towards you as soon as the game begins.
In order to beat these initial enemies you should deploy Bat Rider, Harpies, Defias Bandits and Pyromancer. It’s important to deploy all these 4 units otherwise you might get beaten. It’s also important that at least one of the Defias Bandits should survive the attack. I will explain the reason further below in this post.

You need to also take care of the other side and eliminate the enemies coming from there. It’s not necessary to capture that side Meeting Stone as well, just make sure your base doesn’t gets attacked by enemies coming from that side.
Coming back to Defias Bandits, the reason i said at least one of the Bandit should survive is because he need to reach Herod and stun him. In order to do that just deploy Quilboar behind herod, as soon as the Bandit together with your other units is about to reach him.
This way he will turn back towards Quilboar and get stunned by Defias attack and get easily beaten with the help of other units. If you get successful in doing this then you will easily be able to beat him within less than a minute. If you don’t believe this then watch me doing it in the video embedded below.
That’s basically all you need to do and you will easily be able to complete this mission. If you are wondering about which other Minis you need to use then here is the full list of units i used for Herod – Defias Bandits, Quilboar, Bat Rider, Skeletons, Harpies, Pyromancer with Charlga Razorflank as leader. Of course if you don’t have some of these Minis then no worries, just use other equivalent or better ones.
The best thing about this deck is that it’s average cost is just 2.1 which means you will be able to frequently deploy your units. In the video embedded below you can watch me using the strategy explained in this guide to beat Herod at Lordaeron.
