Wesson or Commander Wesson is the eight character or survivor released in Survivor.io mobile game. He is a great survivor to use when dealing with huge mobs of enemies since he can throw grenades that deal AOE (Area of Effect) damage. Wesson survivor is available right now in Season 9 where you can get him by purchasing the Premium Pass or get up to 40 Wesson shard by purchasing Survivor Pass. However there are other ways as well if you don’t want to spend money to get him. In this post i will tell you how to get Wesson for free together with other important details you need to know about him in Survivor.io game. So let’s check it out!
Survivor.io Wesson Skill & Guide
Before learning about how to unlock Wesson, first let’s get to know some important details about him. The bio of this new survivor says “Non-commissioned officer on active duty for the EDF. Commander of the 5th Survivor Squad and Common’s direct superior cool, collected and decisive, a resolute career soldier …
… A man of occasional words. Initially strongly opposed to the inclusion of King in the 5th squad but later acquiesced to the decision in a drinking showdown when Wesson blacked out (in reality, he slept for 3 days after losing the drinking game, thus missing the review meeting). After King’s addition, Wesson forced the entire 5th squad into silence about the incident, or they would collectively thrown into solitary confinement.”
Just like other survivors, Commander Wesson also has 3 skills which can be unlocked by upgrading him using Wesson shard. I will tell you exactly how to get Wesson Shards to upgrade your Commander Wesson soon in this post so just continue reading further. Below you can learn about all his three skills.
- EM Grenade – This is 1 star skill of Wesson which Hurls hi-tech EM Grenade at enemies
- Drillmaster Perk – This 3 star skill gives him a chance to call for HQ support when throwing a grenade
- EM Field – On unlocking this 6 star skill, Drillmaster’s Fury also generates an EM field that blocks enemy attacks
Below you can learn about all the stat bonuses or effects you can unlock by leveling him up to specific levels. The last bonus stat is usually the best one (for most survivors) so try to level up your Wesson to level 100 as quickly as possible after unlocking him.
- Level 20 – Survivor HP +1000
- Level 40 – All Survivors ATK +5%
- Level 60 -Survivor ATK +600
- Level 80 – All Survivors Crit Rate +5%
- Level 100 – Survivor ATK +1000
And now let’s check out what stat bonuses do you get by upgrading Wesson to different stars. Just like with levels, the last upgrade at 6 Star is the most strongest one. So try to upgrade Commander Wesson to 6 Star as fast as possible (however it’s not that easy).
- 1 Star Upgrade – Default Upgrade, activates EM Grenade skill as mentioned earlier
- 2 Star Upgrade – Unlocks “Survivor License” which gives Survivor Attack +100, Survivor HP +500
- 3 Star Upgrade – Unlocks “Drillmaster Perk” skill and also boosts Survivor HP by +20%
- 4 Star Upgrade – Unlocks “Advanced Survivor License”, gives Survivor Attack +500, Survivor HP +2500
- 5 Star Upgrade – All Survivors Attack +4%
- 6 Star Upgrade – Unlocks “EM Field” skill as mentioned earlier & Survivor Attack +20%

Now it’s time to learn about how to unlock Wesson in Survivor.io game. As mentioned earlier, if you want to get him right now then you can do so by purchasing Premium or Survivor passes. However after the end of Season you will have two ways to get him, which would be either purchase him with money or unlock him using 80 Wesson Shard.
Most probably he would then be really expensive to buy so i suggest collecting 80 shards to unlock him. There are four ways available in the game using which you can get Wesson shard or Random Survivor Shard. I suggest using these ways to collect 80 shards and unlock him for free. Below you can learn about all these 4 ways.
1. Ender’s Echo is a great way to obtain Commander Wesson Shard. Here you can claim chests by playing in Ender’s Echo mode for a certain number of times. Some of these chests also contain a random survivor shard which can also be a Wesson Shard. This mode is also a great way to get Energy Essence which is required for leveling up your survivors. 2. There is one more way inside Ender’s Echo using which you can get Wesson shards and that is from Ranking Rewards. These rewards can be claimed by up to 9999th rank players so you are guaranteed to get at least 1 shard even if you don’t play actively. However the better your rank, more Wesson shard you can get. So try your best to achieve highest ranking.
3. Now here is the best way to get Wesson shard and that is by using Special Ops coins. You can get these coins by playing in Special Ops daily event. This event is not only a great way to get shards, but also gems, gold, tech parts, energy essence and more items. This event is little tricky therefore i highly recommend you to check out my Special Ops Guide where you can learn about some great tips and tricks for this event.
4. The last way to get Wesson shard is through limited time special events. The game frequently keeps releasing new events which are one of the best ways to get all kinds of valuable items in the game. Therefore make sure to participate in these limited time events to get more Wesson shard and other items.
