Other than these shop chests you can also choose to buy Gold with gems. The great thing is that the cost of gold is quite cheaper in the game, you can get 115200 Gold for just 288 gems. However there is a good chance that you would almost never feel the need to purchase gold with gems. Gold can be farmed quite easily and you also get more free gold everyday from the shop by watching an Ad.

So now the question comes, what to spend gems on? Well, according to me the best use of gems is to spend them on the limited time “S Grade Supplies” in the Shop. You can get Good, Better, Excellent and S Grade Excellent equipment from it and just like other Shop chests you are guaranteed an Excellent gear every 10 openings. But the main thing which makes it worth spending gems on is the increased chance to get S Grade equipment from it. So if you are looking for a way to get Lightchaser then this could be your best choice.
Another great thing about S Grade Supplies is that you are guaranteed to get an S Grade equipment after 50 openings. So the more of these you open, more you progress towards obtaining an S Grade gear. Also, each opening in this pack costs 300 gems but i recommend you to collect 2680 gems and then open 10 S Grade Supplies, this way you will save 320 gems.
Since S Grade Supplies is a limited time section so when it’s not available in the game then Large Depot should be your best choice to spend gems. But i am sure they will always keep adding special limited time chests which provide increased chance to get new S Grade equipment.
