How To Get Oak Planks In Last Day On Earth
Just like any other planks available in the game, you need to first chop down oak trees to obtain oak wood, after that you can obtain your oak planks from your oak logs using the Woodworking Bench. Remember that you need 3 oak logs to obtain 1 oak plank!
Where To Find Oak Trees In Last Day On Earth
There are mainly two ways to find oak trees in the game, the first is for the players who have finalized their Chopper. They can then unlock two new oak locations on the map namely Oak Bushes (Yellow Zone) and Oak Grove (Red Zone) by fixing the Watchtower located to the far North on the map.
In order to repair the Watchtower you need to first craft and finalize a Generator and then fit it at the Watchtower, but in order to carry that generator from your base to the watchtower you need a Chopper.

These 2 new locations are the main sources to get oak wood. You can find lots and lots of oak woods by farming in both new zones. Also remember that in order to cut down the oak trees you need Iron Hatchets (regular hatchets will not work) and you need to deliver 8 hits to cut down each tree to find 2 oak logs from each one. However, completing a Chopper can take quite some time, so till then you can use the another way mentioned below to obtain oak logs.
Other than the regular oak locations, you can also find 1 to 3 oak trees at “Pine Wood” which is a regular red zone in the game. So if you have not yet completed your Chopper, you can still farm some oak logs from this red zone, that is why you should always go to red zone with 1 iron hatchet so that you can bring some oak logs as well.
