What to do with extra legendary items is one of the most common questions asked by players in Diablo Immortal. Farming legendary items is one of the ultimate goals in the game however there will be times when you might collect many of them and some of them might be duplicates as well. That’s when you will want to know what to do with duplicate legendary items because you can’t keep collecting them in your inventory and your stash can only store a limited number of items. If you too are looking for the answer then keep reading this post because you will be doing a big mistake if you simply salvage extra legendary items at Blacksmith or even just store them. So let’s begin!
What To Do With Extra Legendary Items In Diablo Immortal
If you haven’t yet noticed then let me tell you that each legendary item has a special legendary effect which improves or adds a new ability to a specific skill of your character. Like in the image below you can see this extra legendary gear has an effect called “Pandemonium” which turns Seven-Sided Strike skill of Monk into Ice Damage with Chilling Effect.
The great thing is that you can actually permanently save this legendary effect from the item and then transfer it to another legendary item of your choice. So even though your duplicate or extra legendary items might be weaker but the legendary effect on them are still really useful. Therefore you should extract this effect from those items using Essence Transfer feature at Zamina, who is an NPC found at Rakkis Plaza in Westmarch.

You will see “Extractable” mentioned in green color at bottom right side of the item if you haven’t yet extracted that item before. You can now tap on that item to find a “Required Materials” tab, just tap on the plus button and then tap on the name of the item (not the item symbol) in the small window that opens. The Extract button will now be highlighted and you can now extract the effect by paying just 3000 gold. You should note that after extracting the legendary effect using Essence Transfer, the legendary item is destroyed but it’s effect is permanently saved.
Now if you want then you can transfer that effect to your equipped legendary gear (if the legendary effect on your gear affects a skill which you don’t use but the effect you extracted from your extra gear affects your equipped skill). To transfer the effect to your equipped item use the Inherit feature at Essence Transfer. That’s how your duplicate and extra items can be really useful.
So you should always try to first extract the effect from your extra or duplicate legendary items using Essence Transfer. If that item has already been extracted then you can freely Salvage that at Blacksmith to obtain a Glowing Shard.
The great thing is that you can switch legendary effects on your equipped items as many times as you want. So if you change your skill then you can inherit a suitable effect (from the effects you have already extracted) which favors your new skill. This way you can utilize your extra and duplicate legendary items to improve your skills.
