As mentioned earlier, these are needed for upgrading your Buildings. In the Image below you can see we need an Aurora Brick to Upgrade our Cookie Castle to Level 4.
There are many ways to get these in the game. One of the ways is to fulfill Cookie’s wishes at “Tree of Wishes”. By donating the required items in these wishes you will progress towards opening Daily Reward chests. You can tap on the chest to know which items they contain. You can obtain EXP star jellies and rarity items like Aurora Bricks from these chests and you can open up to 3 of these chests every day.

The second and the best way to obtain Aurora Bricks is by using Bear Jelly Train at Train Station. You need to just complete some requests and the train will return with various rewards including this Brick.
Other than these two methods, you also have 1.50% chance of pulling this Aurora Brick from Guild Gacha. So make sure to Join or Create a Guild for a chance to obtain various rare items including Aurora items! and lastly you can also get Aurora items from various Events but they are not a consistent and faster source of them.
Also, if you have excess of any one type of aurora item then you can exchange it for another aurora item at Seaside Market. This can be extremely helpful because there is always imbalance in the quantity of aurora items you get which can prevent you from leveling up your buildings.
