How To Use Dry Food and Treats In Last Day On Earth
Dry Food – When you check the feeder inside your Dog Crate, you will find that you can also feed Dry food to your dogs together with raw meats and turkeys. The Dry food is a special food which greatly increases your chance of finding a higher rank puppy after crossbreeding. Normally you can either get a puppy who will be of the same rank as parents or could also be a higher rank. But after feeding a dry food (which lasts for 24 hours) you have a much higher chance of getting a higher rank on the new puppy.
Treats – This is an even more special and unique type of food. These treats can only be used for a dog with True Friend Trait. You don’t need to put it inside dog feeder to use it, instead you keep it in your inventory and feed it to your true friend dog on the spot.

Your True Friend trait dog gets tired after delivering a certain number of bites to zombies, after which you need to bring him to your base in order to revive him back Or you can feed him a treat if you want to revive him instantly on the spot without leaving the zone.
How To Get Dry Food and Treats For Dogs
As you can see these are very special type of food and unfortunately right now they can only be purchased from the game shop. However the good thing is that developers have mentioned that there will be free ways to obtain them in the game in future.
Another good thing is that these foods are optional and doesn’t necessarily stop your progress in the game (like chopper gas tank). You have an alternative of Dry foods, Witty Trait which increases the chance of getting a high rank dog after crossbreeding. Similarly you can always revive your true friend dog without using treats by just bringing him back to your base.
