In this post we are going to show you the steps on how to break the everstone in Magikarp Jump. Its actually not mentioned anywhere in the game about even an everstone exists on your Magikarp and you can also break it on purpose. So if you have been just playing the game then you will never get to know it until you read the steps mentioned in this post. So lets look at the actual steps to break your Everstone in Magikarp Jump.
What Happens When You Break The Everstone
You might be thinking that why should you be breaking your everstone in the first place if the game itself doesn’t wants you to know about it. Well, the game actually wants you to know that you can break the everstone if you want. The great thing is that they even made a specific event which only gets triggered after you break your everstone. You can learn more about this event and all events in Magikarp Jump together with how to unlock each of them in our Magikarp Jump events guide.
Basically what happens is that your Magikarp will evolve into a Gyarados. You might be excited that “wow! you got it evolved, so it would be more better now and you would get something new to see”. Well, the truth is that your Magikarp will retire right after it gets evolved into a Gyarados. But it will earn you some diamonds or JP for your efforts.
So now you know that what happens after breaking the Everstone. So now let’s look at how to break the everstone to evolve into a Gyarados.

Follow the steps below to break the everstone preventing your Magikarp from evolving into a Gyarados.
Step 1. Make sure that your Trainer Level is at least 10 or above that. The thing is that your Magikarp should be able to level up to 20. Means the max level capacity of your Magikarp should be at least 20, only then it can evolve into a Gyarados.
Step 2. Now start tapping the Magikarp in your pond repeatedly. You need to tap continuously on it for about 30 seconds or so. You will then get a message that you have broken your everstone.
Step 3. Now once again start tapping on your Magikarp continuously and this time you will get a “Random Encounter” message and a boost in your JP.
Now, if your Magikarp is already at level 20 then it will evolve into a gyarados right after you break the everstone. But if your Magikarp is at lower level, like level 15, then you will only get the message of your Everstone being broken. After that when your Magikarp reaches level 20, then it will evolve and retire.
Also remember that if you break the everstone of a gold pattern Magikarp then it will evolve into a Red Gyarados. It would be also good to see how to get a new everstone in Magikarp Jump after you break it.
