Safety Rope is a very useful thing which can be used to swiftly slide down from high platforms in Undawn mobile & PC game. Even though it can be crafted and used whenever you want but just like most other players, you probably won’t build it until you need to complete the mission “Slide Down Now“. The description of this mission says “Try to build a safety rope along the top of the building“. Unfortunately A lot of players struggle to complete this mission. If you are also among those players then no need to worry anymore. In this post i won’t only tell you how to build or craft safety rope but also exactly how to complete this mission in Undawn. How To Craft Safety Rope In Undawn
Before learning about how to use the safety rope for completing “Slide Down Now” mission, first let’s learn about how to build Safety Rope. In order to craft safety rope you first need to tap on hammer button at bottom left corner to open “Crafting on the Go” screen.
At this screen you can craft various tools, recovery items like First Aid Kits etc, Ammo and Rigs. To build safety rope you need to switch to the fourth tab (Rig) and then tap on Safety Rope in the list of objects. It is actually very easy to craft it because it doesn’t requires any special items to be obtained.
In order to craft a Safety Rope you just need 20 stone and 1 Steel Rope. To get the steel rope, simply tap on it’s icon in the materials list and the game will automatically expand it’s details to show you that it can be obtained from Building Shop. So just tap on the shop to visit it and purchase steel rope using 50 silver. Then just tap on “Craft” button to build safety rope and find it in your backpack.
How To Use Or Place Safety Rope In Undawn
As mentioned earlier, you will need to use this Safety Rope for a mission called “Slide Down Now” which says “Try to build a safety rope along the top of the building“. In case you don’t know how or where to get this mission then let me tell you that you need to go to Menu > Story > Adventure Guide > Chapter 1 (Wilderness Survival) > Survival Item. Also, you must complete the previous missions in order to unlock Survival Item missions.
As you saw above that crafting the safety rope is quite easy, the main thing which most players struggle with is how to place safety rope. If you open your backpack and select the safety rope then you will find that it shows you a “Use” button. However when you tap on Use button it will show you the message “Unable to build in current phase“.
The thing which most players don’t understand is that you need to be at a suitable place in order to use the safety rope. If you are not at the right place then you will keep getting “Unable to build in current phase” error message on your screen. So what or where is this right place in the game? You actually need to be at high altitude spots to be able to use safety rope like a really high platform, over high mountains or at Signal Towers. Since the easiest and fastest way to locate a suitable spot for safety ropes are Signal Towers so i will explain using it as an example. But you can place it at any other high altitude locations in the game as well.
I will use “Michael’s Ranch” Signal Tower at Redwood Forest > Laketown as an example in this post because it is located very close to Michael’s Ranch Road Sign and thus is easier and faster to reach. So just use the map shown in the image below to locate this Signal Tower in your game and go there.
After reaching there, climb up the Signal Tower and once you have climbed up, position yourself so that you are facing the extension ladder you just used to climb up there. Now you need to tap on “Survive” button at bottom left of your screen and then switch to the second tab “Portable Tools”.
From this screen you can use different types of tools for various purposes like Fishing, Rig, Scout, Snowboard, Mobile Drone & Glide. For completing this specific mission you need to choose “Rig” option and then tap on Safety Rope from the three options (Extension Ladder, Safety Rope & Rest Shed) shown on screen.
Now move and position yourself so that the safety rope is placed exactly above the fixed extension ladder of the Signal Tower. You basically need to keep adjusting yourself slightly till the safety rope turns green. You can check the image below to know exactly how or where you need to place the safety rope. After that just tap on “Place” button to successfully place the Safety Rope and complete the mission.
After placing the Safety Rope you can use it as many times as you want for the next 10 minutes. In order to use it just go near the safety rope to get a “Rope” button on your screen. Just tap this button to automatically slide down the Signal Tower. You can find this “Rope” button at it’s end as well so that you could use it to automatically slide upwards, without requiring you to drag and hold upwards in order to climb the Signal Tower.
