Equipment or Gear are one of your primary sources of power in Tower of God New World mobile game. Just like most other games, you can increase the power of your characters by equipping them with various gears. However a lot of new players get confused by looking at so many equipment. They are unable to decide which gear to equip on which character. Since there are many details in an equipment and in order to utilize an equipment in the best way you need to be familiar with all its details. In this gear guide i will teach you everything you need to know about gear or equipment in Tower of God New World together with some important tips. So let’s check it out!
Tower of God New World Equipment/Gear Guide
The first thing you need to know is how to equip gear on your characters. Well, its quite easy to do so as all you need to do is just switch to Teammates tab and select a character of your choice. You will already be at “Equipment” tab by default. You will now see a screen like in the image below.
You will see that four slots are numbered as 1, 2, 3 and 4. Equipment slot 1 is for equipping a main weapon, slot 2 is for secondary weapon, slot 3 is for equipping an accessory and slot 4 is where you can equip an armor. The Exclusive Equipment can be unlocked after upgrading character’s Proficiency to level 10.
The last slot called “Carrier” is a mystery as it can’t be unlocked right now. There is no info about this Carrier for now but it will probably be unlocked with a new update in future. It will be quite interesting to see what exactly will we get by unlocking it as many players are already speculating various benefits of this slot.
You will also find “Remove All” and “Auto Equip” buttons at bottom of the screen. Tapping on Auto Equip will automatically equip your character with suitable gear having highest power while “Remove All” button will automatically unequip all equipment from your character in one tap.
One thing you need to know is that “Auto Equip” feature might seem like a quick and easy way to equip best gear. However the gear it chooses might not necessarily be the best one for your character as it selects gear based on only power value. Later in this post i will explain you why Auto Equip is not the best way and also how to choose the best equipment for your characters.
The next important thing you need to know about are different details mentioned on an equipment piece. Each equipment carries many details and in order to utilize an equipment in the best way its necessary to be familiar with all mentioned details. Below you can check an equipment piece in which i have marked its different details with numbers.
The symbol at top left in the icon (number 1 in the above image) shows the role of the equipment. There are six roles in the game (Assassin, Tank, Ranged, Support, Warrior & Mage) and each character belongs to a specific role. An equipment can be equipped by a character with the same role only.
The background color (number 2 in the above image) shows the rank of the gear. Equipment are available in 9 ranks and they can be identified by their background color. Higher the equipment rank, more powerful it will be. Below you can find the list of all equipment ranks (in descending order) together with their background colors.
- S (Yellow)
- A+ (Pink)
- A (Pink)
- B+ (Purple)
- B (Purple)
- C+ (Blue)
- C (Blue)
- D (Green)
- E (Grey)
The symbol at top right (number 3 in the image) denotes the element of the equipment. There are 5 elements and each character also belongs to a specific element (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow or Purple). You might not find this element symbol on every gear because only rank B and higher gear have elements. The element of a gear can also be changed but i will cover that in another post, so that it doesn’t get too confusing.

Lastly the number at bottom right (number 4 in the image) denotes the level of equipment. An equipment can be enhanced using Enhancement Hammers and other gear to increase its level to make it more stronger. To enhance a gear you need to open the Equipment tab of a character and equip that gear. You can then tap on the gear and choose “Enhance” option to increase its level using hammers and equipment.
By tapping on a gear you will also find “Release” and “Swap” buttons. Release will simply unequip that gear and Swap will allow you to replace that gear with another one. You don’t need to worry about replacing a leveled up gear with a stronger one because when using that leveled up gear as a material (while enhancing) you will get increased EXP according to its level.
Now let’s learn about why Auto Equip might not be the best way to equip best gear on your character. Well, the reason is because it simply selects gear with highest combat power. However the best way is to equip gear which have the same element as your character because this way the equipment stats increase by a massive 30%.
Obviously in the beginning (or even after playing for few weeks) you might not yet have enough higher rank equipment with all elements. In that case Auto Equip might be a good way to quickly equip the best gear on your characters. However as you start getting more and more high rank equipment you should start focusing on the element of gear you equip.
How To Get Equipment In Tower of God New World
Now the most important question is how do you get more equipment in Tower of God New World game. Well, right now there are three ways you can use to get equipment or gear in the game. In the future we should probably have a few more ways to obtain them. Anyways, below you can learn about all these three ways to get equipment in TOG New World right now.
The first and the most easiest way to obtain equipment is from Loot Accumulation feature. Its an effortless way to not only get equipment but also various other valuable items. Note that the accumulation of rewards stops after 24 hours so you should try to log into the game at least once or twice a day to claim the rewards and keep collecting more of them.
Also note that the quality and amount of rewards depends upon your progress in Adventure mode. Therefore it is important to keep progressing in Adventure mode in order to get high quality equipment and other rewards from Loot Accumulation.
The next way to obtain equipment is by participating regularly in Mock Battle Facility. This is one of the best ways to obtain S and A+ rank equipment. However you need to be strong enough to deal a great amount of damage to the boss and claim the best rewards. The last and probably the quickest way to get equipment is by going to Control Center > Workshop Store. At this store you can buy gear using Suspendium. The great thing is that any equipment you purchase from here will have minimum B+ rank which means they will have element. If you are looking for some specific element gear then just wait for the items to refresh or you can also refresh immediately using Suspendium.
You can also switch to Alliance tab at the same screen to find even more equipment to choose from. However in order to purchase equipment from here you will need Alliance Coin which can be obtained after joining an Alliance. So make sure to create or join an Alliance as it unlocks another great opportunity for you to obtain equipment.
