Taming Area is a special region in Viking Rise mobile game. In this region you can find various wild creatures to use as Mounts. There are a good number of players who are having a hard time occupying this Taming Area. Not only this but another issue faced by players is how to build Beast Pen, which is a necessary requirement in order to use Mounts feature. If you are one of those players having issues with all these then you don’t need to worry anymore. In this post i am going to tell you how to occupy Taming Area as well as everything you need to know about Beast Pen and Mounts in Viking Rise.
How To Occupy Taming Area In Viking Rise
In order to learn about Beast Pen and Mounts, you first need to know about Taming Area and how to occupy it. As mentioned before, Taming Area is a small region (almost the same size as a village). It is located at Moonlit Village. This means in order to occupy Taming Area you first need to reach Moonlit Village and occupy the Sentry Tower there.
Once you have occupied the Sentry Tower at Moonlit Village, the fog covering the further area will be cleared. That’s when you will be able to see the Taming Area. Also, in order to reach Moonlit Village you first need to occupy Grimms Village and then also occupy Kohn Village. This means you first need to clear all enemies at these two villages before you could reach Moonlit Village.
Although the regular way to reach and occupy Taming Area is by completing the Chapter missions visible at left side of the screen. But if you have a powerful squad with high level heroes and high tier troops then you can also just keep clearing the enemies at Grimms and Kohn villages yourself, without waiting for their missions.
If you follow the regular route and wait for Taming Area Chapter mission then you need to reach Chapter 19. This is the chapter in which you will get the mission for occupying taming area. There are total 9 missions to be completed in Chapter 19 and the mission for taming area will be mentioned as “Occupy the Taming Area”.
In order to complete this mission you need to defeat the enemy troop or better known as Niflungs guarding the Taming Area. The game recommends at least 13,500 T2 Troops for beating these Niflungs. It’s not really that hard to train that many troops therefore you should easily be able to defeat them and successfully occupy Taming Area.

Inside the Taming Area you will find 5 sheep towards left of the area and 5 wild beasts or creatures locked at right side. All these creatures are known to be tamed by the Niflungs, as the description of the area itself mentions “There are many wild beasts in the Taming Area that have been tamed by the Niflungs. They’re ferocious!”
How To Build Beast Pen In Viking Rise
The next question which a lot of players often ask is “how to build Beast Pen“. The reason they want to know that is because after defeating Niflungs and occupying the Taming Area players get to release and obtain some Lost Vikings from inside the Taming Area. These lost vikings include 150 Bowman, 150 Pikemen and 150 Infantry.
On releasing these lost vikings, the players get to see a conversation between a captive called “The Rescued Ones” and Ivana. In their conversation, the captive says “Thank you so much, Ivor. We’ve been slaves of the Niflungs since they captured us, rearing all kinds of beast for them.”
After that he also mentions the following “But because of that, we learned how to tame wild beasts. We can provide Mounts for the Heroes of our clan.” Then Ivana is seen responding “Let’s build a Beast Pen! With mounts, Heroes will become more powerful in battle.” This means in order to use the Mounts feature you need to build a Beast Pen first.
Normally, after occupying the Taming Area you should be able to build a Beast Pen in your city right away. However due to the reason that Beast Pen can’t be found at your “Build” screen (accessible by tapping on the button with hammer icon at bottom left of the screen) you can’t build a Beast Pen right now. As it hasn’t been added to the game yet, you need to wait for a future update which includes this new building.
Viking Rise Mounts Feature
Mounts feature gives you the ability to mount over the wild beasts found inside Taming Area. Although it’s not yet clear exactly how many and what kinds of benefits do you get by mounting creatures but one thing is confirmed that it increases your Might. There should definitely be other benefits of Mounts as well, like increased marching speed etc.
Other than the speculation of increased movement speed, the beast should most probably also help you during fights. It would actually be a really helpful feature. However, since you can’t build a Beast Pen right now therefore you also can’t unlock Mounts. The game also displays a message “The Mounts feature is not available yet. Stay Tuned!” after you have occupied the Taming Area.
