Both these things are actually among the most basic features which you periodically need to use in the game and thus it is really important to know about them. If you are also among those players who have no idea about how to refill water bottle and refine materials like iron ore etc. then no need to worry anymore. In this post i will explain exactly how to do both of them as well as other important details you need to know regarding them. So let’s check it out!
How To Refill Water Bottle In Undawn
In Undawn you regularly get hungry, thirsty and unhealthy due to encountering varying weather conditions and constant physical activities. Failing to maintain your health or being hungry and thirsty can have a negative impact on your character. Therefore it’s really important to keep a regular focus on these three conditions.
By tapping on “Survive” button at bottom left corner you can open Health Monitor screen where you can check your Hunger, Health and Hydration stats. You will get a warning or notification on your screen when any of these three stats drop to a low level. You should then immediately focus on restoring the affected stat.
In order to get rid of hunger you simply need to eat any food. There are lots and lots of dishes you can make using Grill at your Homestead to consume and refill your hunger stat. Other than that you can also purchase ready made food dishes like Hamburger from Raven Shop by going to Menu and then Market. So getting rid of hunger is quite easy as you don’t really need to go anywhere in order to fix your hunger stat.
The next stat which can severely affect your HP is “Health”. A lot of players get confused about HP and Health because both of them seem quite similar. However in reality fixing your Health is completely different than restoring your HP. I have already posted a separate in-depth guide on how to restore Health. Make sure you read the linked post in the last sentence in order to better understand this important topic.
Then comes the Hydration stat which is responsible for your character’s thirst. When your Hydration stat gets lower your character starts to feel thirsty and that’s when you need to drink water bottle from the same Health Monitor screen to quench your thirst. If your bottle is full then you can drink from it a couple of times.
However once your bottle gets empty you will need to refill water bottle otherwise you won’t be able to drink water the next time your Hydration stat drops. It’s actually quite easy to refill water as all you need to do is just find a clean water source such as a river. You can find such clean water sources at almost every region in the game therefore refilling your bottle is quite easy, no matter where you are.
Homestead is your most visited location in the game and luckily you can find a river really close to it. So just visit this river or any other clean water source and you will see the message “This water source is clean. You can fetch water here to clean things or fill up your water bottle” on your screen.
When you see this message, just tap on “Add Water” button on your Health Monitor screen to refill your empty bottle. Make sure you are really close to the river or slightly inside it to be able to collect water. You can also wash your face and clean your clothes using respective buttons on the same screen to improve your Hygiene.

How To Refine Materials In Undawn
Refining materials such as Copper Ore, Iron Ore, Malachite, Prairie Flax Fibers etc. is another basic thing which a lot of new players struggle with. In Undawn you actually need to refine or process the items gathered from open world before you could use them for crafting other advanced items.
In order to refine materials you first need to go to your Homestead. After reaching Homestead, go to your Construction Workbench and switch to the second tab in it (the one with furniture icon). On switching to this tab you will be able to see various furniture and workbenches you can craft to place at your Homestead. On scrolling through the list you will find a “Raw Material Workbench” which requires just 150 wood and 75 stones to craft. So just select this Workbench and tap on “Craft” button.
Now return to your Homestead screen and tap on button at center of the screen which has a hammer in hand icon. Now simply select the Workbench you have just crafted from the list (in case you have other objects which haven’t been placed yet) and place it anywhere at your Homestead.
After that you simply need to go to this Workbench and tap on “Use” button to open it’s main screen. There you will be able to see all your unrefined or unprocessed items at right column. Simply select the resource you want to refine and tap on “Add to Workbench” button. The item will be added to either Normal or Advanced Raw Materials section depending upon the type of item that is. Now just tap on “Refine” button to start processing the item and make it ready for actual use.
Note that there is a daily refine limit on both normal and advanced raw materials. You can refine a maximum of 2800 normal raw materials and 1400 advanced raw materials per day. However you can increase refine limit of both types of materials a little bit by using some specific items.
By tapping on “+” button in front of normal raw materials’ limit you can purchase a Lubricant which allows you to refine 200 more normal materials on that day. Similarly you can also purchase a Radiator to be able to refine 100 more advanced raw materials on the day of it’s purchase.
Both these items can be purchased from Gold Store using Gold. You can easily obtain a lot of gold by selling weapons and items in the game.
