How to get pet is what most players want to know in Undawn mobile & PC game. You can have two types of animals as pet in the game which is either a pet dog or a pet cat. There are various breeds of dogs and cats whom you can adopt and it’s also possible to even assign them a name of your choice. However most players have no idea about how the pet system works, where to get pet food and more. If you are also among those players then you don’t need to worry anymore. In this pet guide i won’t only tell you about pet adoption but also everything you need to know about this system like pet house, pet food, pet mission, pet merchant and pet shop in Undawn. So let’s check it out!
How To Get Pet In Undawn
Before learning about how to get a dog, it is important for you to know about how useful the pets actually are in Undawn. If you talk about their usefulness then unfortunately right now they are not that much useful for your character. For example, you can’t take a cat with you because the game identifies it as a “small pet” and such pets can’t be taken to other regions.
Dogs on the other hand are a little more useful than cats because they can be taken anywhere you want. However even if you carry a dog, he still won’t be of much help. This is because although your pet dog has a 14 slots storage which you can use to store more items but other than that he doesn’t provides any other benefit at all, at least right now.
Although your dog will be with you but he can’t fight or attack enemies. The funny thing is he actually hides instantly or runs away when you are fighting zombies and returns when there is no more danger. The most he does before running away is that he just warns you that enemies are coming to attack you.
Anyways, for a lot of players it doesn’t really matter if their pet is providing them any benefit or not. For them it’s actually a great feeling to have a pet whom they can feed and play with to refresh themselves. So keeping all those players in mind, now let’s learn about how to get a pet in Undawn.
When you tap on “Pet” option under menu, it says that you first need to adopt a pet either by completing the Pet Tutorial Mission or by looking up Phoebe at Ravens Shelter. The best way to unlock the pet system is to simply complete this short pet quest. This pet mission is called “[Pet] Regroup with Phoebe” and can be located at left side of the screen under “Mission” tab.
If you don’t find this pet quest at Mission tab then make sure to scroll through all the missions in the list, since the pet mission won’t necessarily be at the top in the list. Also, make sure that your character level is at least 50 and you have also unlocked Homestead. If you are sure that you fulfill all requirements but still don’t see the pet tutorial mission then simply visit Phoebe (who is an NPC) at Ravens Shelter. You can check her exact location in the image below.
After completing the pet tutorial you will get a dog, a cat and a Standard Pet Room. This pet room or Pet Bed is where your pets stay so the first thing you need to do is to place the Standard Pet Bed which you got after completing the mission at your Homestead. So visit your Homestead, tap the button at center of the screen with hammer in the hand icon, select the Standard Pet Room you have obtained and then place it.
Once you have placed the Pet Bed, go near it and tap on “My Pet” button. You will now see an empty Pet House since you haven’t yet assigned any pet to it. So tap on “Petcare Box” at bottom right side of the screen to see both cat and dog you have obtained from the mission. Select the dog (or cat if you want) and tap on “Retrieve” button to assign the dog to that pet bed. You can now tap on back button to find the dog resting in the pet house.
If you want to carry the dog with you then simply tap on “Take Out” button at bottom left of the screen. The dog will now follow you anywhere you go in the wilderness. You can also rename your pet by tapping on pencil icon in front of the pet name at bottom left of the screen.
Your pet also has a Hunger and Mood bar and you should make sure that your pet is not hungry and is also in good mood. In order to raise or improve the hunger and mood stats of your pet you need to go near the pet to see an “Interact” button on your screen.

After tapping this button you will see the options to feed your pet, play with him/her and also access the Pet Bag to store your items. By playing with your pet using different available animations you will improve your pet’s mood and also gain Friendship Points. Collecting enough friendship points will increase your Friendship Level and every time you increase this level you will get a specific number of Pet Trust Points as reward. These points are the currency which you need for purchasing items from Pet Shop or Pet Store and also for purchasing more pets from the Pet Merchant, Phoebe.
You can actually get new pet in two ways. The first way is to visit Phoebe the Pet Merchant (her location can be seen in the map shown earlier in this post) and the other way is by simply going to your Pet Room at Homestead and tapping on “Adopt a Pet” button. You will then be able to see all dogs and cats you can purchase using Pet Trust Points.
One more thing you need to know is that each Pet Room can accommodate only one pet. So you will need to purchase more Pet Rooms if you plan to get new pets. How To Get Pet Food In Undawn
You have already learnt about how to improve the mood of your pet but when you try to feed your pet it will require pet food. There are a lot of players who have no idea about where to get pet food from even though it’s quite easy to figure out. However i can’t blame those players because there are too many buttons, options and currencies in this game that it’s quite obvious for any new player to get confused and that’s probably why many players don’t know where to buy pet food.
Anyways, in order to get pet food you need to open the Menu (by tapping on four squares button beside Minimap) and tap on “Market” option. Now scroll to the bottom and tap on “Pet” button to open Pet Shop. You will arrive at Pet Food tab from where you can buy Cheap, Standard and Premium pet foods for both dogs and cats separately. You can buy these food either using Pet Trust Points or Silver currencies. But note that there is a weekly purchase limit on purchasing pet food using silver.
Cheap pet foods provide +5 hunger and +5 friendship points while Standard pet foods provide +10 hunger and friendship points. Premium pet food give you the most points, which is +15 for both hunger and friendship. If you play the game for a long time regularly then your pet might get hungry fast as well and thus you can consider purchasing premium pet foods to gain most hunger points fast.
How To Get Pet Trust Points In Undawn
Pet Trust Points are what you need in order to purchase items at Pet Shop. There are only two ways to get Pet Trust Points in Undawn. The first way (as already explained earlier) is to increase your Friendship level with pet and claim Pet Trust points as reward on reaching new Friendship levels.
Pets have a max friendship level of 5 but the good thing is that each pet has his/her own friendship level. This means if you have reached Friendship Level 5 with a pet then you can activate another pet and raise friendship level with him to gain more Pet Trust Points.
If you want to get Pet Trust Points in this way then you should make it a habit to keep playing with your pet dog every once in a while. This will improve his mood as well as also help you to level up your Friendship level fast. However remember that you will only earn points when your pet’s hunger or mood bar is reduced. This means you need to spend actual time in the game with your pet so that he gets hungry or changes mood.
The second way to get Pet Trust Points is to simply claim the free points sent by the game every day. You actually get rewarded with Pet Trust Points just for interacting and playing with your pet (dog) while completing missions or doing anything in the game. So don’t forget to play with your pet a few times each day and make sure to check for mails with these Pet Trust points reward by tapping on envelope icon at bottom center of your screen.
