How to get Gas Mask or Protective Mask is what most players want to know in Undawn mobile and PC game. The reason is because there are certain regions in the game which have radiation particles in the atmosphere and in order to survive there you need to wear a Gas Mask. You actually need a better version of Gas Mask known as Protective Mask in order to survive at Radioactive regions. However many players have no idea about how to get Gas Mask therefore in this post i am going to tell you how to craft Gask Mask or Protective Mask in Undawn. So let’s check it out!
How To Get Gas Mask In Undawn
In order to get a Gas Mask you need to craft it using “Crafting On The Go” feature in the game. To craft the mask using this feature you need to tap on Hammer button at bottom left corner of the screen. This will open the “Tools” tab where you need to scroll all the way to the bottom of the list to find Gas Mask and craft it.
You will find that it requires a Normal Silicone Mask, a Filter Canister, 2 Filter Cotton and 2 Rubber Band to craft a Gas Mask. However an important thing you need to know is that it’s a regular or basic mask which can’t be used at highly radioactive locations like Quarry at Koller Mines. Also, you won’t be able to craft it even if you want to because the above mentioned four items can’t be obtained that easily.
You actually need to craft a more stronger and upgraded mask called Protective Mask to protect yourself from radioactive particles at radiation zones. However you won’t find this gas mask in the crafting list because you need to obtain this Gas Mask Blueprint first. Once you obtain and learn the blueprint you will then be able to craft it using Crafting on the go feature.
In order to obtain Protective Mask blueprint the first thing you need to do is to reach Character Level 50 in the game. This is because you must complete a mission called “Deadly Radiation” in order to get this blueprint and you can unlock this mission only after reaching level 50 in Undawn. So first complete various other missions and specific daily events to earn EXP and level up your character.
Once you have reached character level 50, tap on Menu button at top right side (located just before Minimap) and then tap on “Story”. You will now see four options on the screen, tap on “Wilderness Anecdote”. This will display a long list of quests which you can complete to get thousands of silver and various other rewards. Just tap the continue button in front of “Equipment Special 2: Gas Mask” quest from the list.
Deadly Radiation quest will now be activated and can be seen at Mission tab at top left of the screen. You can now start completing this mission’s tasks to be able to get 2,000 silver, 100 Reputation for Goldrush Outpost and Gas Mask blueprint on it’s completion. Most of this mission’s tasks are quite easy so won’t have any major issues while completing it.
However, like most other players you might get stuck at the last part of this mission where you need to obtain 4 Filter Cotton and a Diary. In this task you need to enter a password for opening Jessica suitcase. The hint for Jessica’s suitcase password can be obtained from the diary kept next to the suitcase. However most players struggle to get the code even after reading the diary.
The diary reads “The last day of May is just around the corner, and i’m really worried. It’s Karma’s birthday, but i don’t even have the money to buy bread. Where in the world can i find the money to buy him a birthday cake? May be i’ve got to find another part time job so that i can save enough money. Ugh, he’s been looking at me expectantly for a few days already”.
At the top in the diary, the day on which this message was written is also mentioned as “Wedenday, May 27, Rainy”. So now the question is, what’s Jessica’s suitcase code? Most players enter the password as 527 or 275 because the message in the diary was written on 27th May. Some also try entering the code as 427 or 274 because the day was Wednesday however the actual code, 531, is hidden in the first sentence of the message which says, “The last day of May is just around the corner”.
Once you have entered the correct password you will get 4 Filter Cottons from the suitcase. After that you just need to talk to Karm just beside the suitcase to get Protective Mask blueprint together with all other remaining items required for crafting the Gas Mask which are 1 Steel Component, 1 Filter Canister, 1 Normal Silicone Mask and 1 Gas-Conducting Tube.
You can now learn the blueprint from the formula which pops up on the screen or by learning it from your backpack. After learning the blueprint, you can check the Tools at Crafting on the Go screen and you will now also find Protective Gas Mask in the list. Since you have already obtained all required items so just tap on Craft button to get your Gas Mask.
Now whenever you visit Quarry or any other radioactive region, the game will automatically equip the Gas Mask on you. This Protective Gas Mask also has durability and can be equipped for total 500 minutes. The great thing is that the game will also automatically unequip the gas mask as soon as you exit the radioactive zone and arrive in normal atmosphere.
