Viking Rise Dragon Lair
Before learning about how to find the dragon first let’s get to know some really important details about him. This will help you to prepare yourself and be able to successfully beat him, once you encounter him at his lair. The dragon is really strong therefore it’s recommended to train a good quantity of high tier troops. Further in this post i will also tell you exactly how many minimum troop would be good to defeat him.
Drakon is the dragon whom you will find at Dragon Lair. He is a huge and strong creature who has trapped some viking troops as well as also guarding the Dragon Treasure. Once you have successfully defeated him, you will be able to save and recruit the captured troops which includes 170 Bow Rangers, 170 Lancers and 170 Axe Fighters.
Together with that you will also unlock the dragon’s treasure. The treasure contains 500 gems, 2 Oracle Soulstone and 1 hour Speedup. These rewards might not seem to be something really extraordinary for defeating a huge and dangerous dragon but it’s actually just kind of a bonus reward.
Dragon Treasure is located inside the Dragon Cave. You will be able to occupy this cave after defeating the dragon and claiming the treasure chest inside it. The description of the Dragon Cave says “Countless treasures are hidden in the sinister Dragon’s Lair. Defeat the dragon and everything in it shall be yours!”.
The cave also reveals a really exciting backstory about Drakon. It reveals that “The dragon has been here for many years. At first, it avoided the Vikings, guarding itself and feeding on beasts and monsters. With the arrival of the long night, the dragon began attacking the surrounding villages. It’s time for the dragon to pay for the havoc it caused.”
How To Unlock Dragon Lair In Viking Rise
After learning everything about Drakon the dragon, now it’s time to learn about where and how to find him and most importantly how to unlock Dragon Lair. Like most other players, if you are also confused about where is dragon’s lair then let me tell you that it’s none other than the the Dragon Cave i have shown above. This means in order to unlock dragon lair or “Dragon Cave” you need to defeat the dragon, Drakon.

You might now say, “Ok, so the dragon cave is the dragon lair, but where exactly is this dragon cave located in the game?” Well, that’s a good question and the answer is that dragon cave is located at Geirleif Village. If you are wondering about the exact location of this village then it’s towards the bottom right side of your city. You can check the location of this village as well as the location of Dragon Lair in the image below.
Geirleif Village is the fourth village you can occupy in the following order in the game – Grimms Village > Kohn Village > Moonlit Village > Geirleif Village. The good thing is that you don’t really have to complete any hidden or unspecified mission in order to unlock it. All you need to do is just keep completing Chapter missions visible at left side of the screen.
You need to keep completing Chapters until you reach Chapter 22 which contains 9 missions. In this Chapter you will find a mission called “Defeat The Dragon Guardian”. This is exactly the mission in which you need to defeat the dragon Drakon at Dragon’s Lair.
The game recommends at least 21,000 T3 Troops in order to defeat the dragon. However you can defeat him even if you don’t have 21,000 T3 Troops. You just need to have a lot more tier 2 troops in your squad. Just make sure you have a good quantity of T3 troops as well together with a lot of T2 troops and you will be able to complete this mission to finally unlock Dragon Lair. Another thing you need to know is that after beating the dragon you can also obtain food resource from his body. You can get 200K food from it to be exact. Once you have defeated him, the body of the dragon will still be there. All you need to do is just tap on the body (like you do with Errands) in order to call a worker and start collecting food from it.
