Why You Are Unable To Merge Allies In Fire Emblem Heroes

This usually happens when you try to merge two duplicate heroes, say two 4 star Camilla. When you try to merge them, you find out that you can’t. The reason is because 1 of those 2 heroes is marked as “Favorite” by the game.

As you know that 4 star and 5 star heroes are quite rare and hard to get, that’s why the game automatically marks your 4 and 5 star heroes as favorite, so that you won’t lose them accidentally.

In order to merge your duplicate allies, you first need to unfavorite your character. As soon as you unfavorite your hero, you are now free to merge it.

How To Unfavorite Your Hero

On your Hero’s stats screen, you can find a heart icon (near the top left side). When you can’t merge your character, then you will find that the heart icon is glowing, which means your hero is marked as favorite. Tap on that heart icon so that it no longer glows (it can be seen circled in red in the image below). Congrats! your character is no longer a favorite now and you can easily merge your allies.

You can now go to Allies>Advanced Growth>Merge Allies and merge the dupe to gain better stats for your main version of the hero.
